As said in a email to a few friends/readers... this just sucks.
Now for some slightly more upbeat or at least... well, you decide.
Many thanks to the original uploaders of both videos... but I'm not going to eat the head.
I think we just found the newest chant in every arena the Rockets play in for the rest of the season.
And finally, before abandoning you all for the rest of the TNT NBA doubleheader: the topping off of the ginormous new digs for the Dallas Cowboys. As the son of a construction worker, I can appreciate the gesture of letting the folks who helped build this place leave their John Hancocks on the last beam.
One of the things that my dad took pride in more than the actual construction - whether he was walking on steel beams, operating the machinery or pulling together crews - was being able to show his children what his calloused hands helped erect. The pride that these people must feel - no matter how anyone feels about the team, owner Jerry Jones or the politics behind the project - cannot be measured in mere words.
Respect due.
Perception is reality, the saying goes. Modern players can never transcend time, athletes only care about the money and the fan is never wrong. Yet, all you need to do is dig a little deeper to find the truth. As a freelance sportswriter, my job is to give the audience a story around what just happened. As a consumer, I expect that sports will always provide more than I bargained for. As a fan, my hopes are to be enlightened by more than points. Welcome to the mind of a sports scribe.

T! (IV)
YouTube can be a bizarre and frustrating experience. Plus with the video joiner having gone nuts, the clip from Rangers Ballpark in Arlington was not uploaded as planned. Instead, here are all of the clips in one channel. Of course, you can enjoy the other bizarre videos that make this Scribe laugh, cry, smile and throw things in frustration.
Oh, and the surprise mentioned in the introduction video? Not much of one really since you've already seen it in the slideshow. It's the new Cowboys stadium being erected a few blocks away. It'll open next season and will host Super Bowl XLV (2011).
Excuse the language, but it's friggin' ginomous!
