Perception is reality, the saying goes. Modern players can never transcend time, athletes only care about the money and the fan is never wrong. Yet, all you need to do is dig a little deeper to find the truth. As a freelance sportswriter, my job is to give the audience a story around what just happened. As a consumer, I expect that sports will always provide more than I bargained for. As a fan, my hopes are to be enlightened by more than points. Welcome to the mind of a sports scribe.

Idea
The light bulb comes on once in a while.
If you haven't already been innundated with Top 10, Best of, Worst of, Most and all of those other end-of-year lists, the holiday break will come with a heavy dose of them for your viewing (dis)pleasure. However, does anyone ask YOU what are the moments that stick out to you?
Probably not.
Well, from today until New Year's Eve, it'll be your chance to lay it on thick. I want to know what stuck out to you in a phenomenal sports calendar that was 2008. If you want to make a list, go on ahead. If you want to conjure up just a singular memory, let's see it. If you want to be serious or funny, stir our emotions.
It doesn't matter if it was an event that went on for the world to see or one that only you witnessed. Major league, minor league, collegiate, amateur, semi-pro, it doesn't matter. American or international, just as long as you write it in English (because unfortunately, I'm not versed in another language). Let this blog post relive or introduce us to something that made 2008 a year to remember. Just make it your own relflection.
As one of my good friends from Babson would say, "have at it, hoss!".
Oh, and Facebookers, join the network, if you please.
